About company
První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s.
It was the year 1950 that officially marked the opening of the První brněnská strojírna in Velká Bíteš, although its origins date as far back as 1814. Four decades later, in 1991, the První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. company was established. It can now pride itself as being one of a number of Czech firms able to achieve global success in the most sophisticated of world markets. This achievement is due to the goals that have been reached through the technical development of the company.
In 1997, another firm, PBS Turbo, s.r.o., was set up, which was a joint venture between První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. and MAN B & W Diesel A.G. It was to this new company that the production of PBS and MAN turbochargers was handed over.
More recently, alterations were made on 1st May 2006 to the organisational structure of První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. They involved transferring the cooperation operations of the Turbine Division and the manufacture of decanting centrifuges to the Machine Shop and Tools Division. The know-how garnered over the years in steam turbines, along with their servicing and spare parts, were invested in a new company - PBS ENERGO, a.s. - a joint venture between První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. and ČKD Nové Energo, a.s.
