On-the-Job Training Centre of PBS Velká Bíteš
Dear students, our prospective employees!
PBS Velká Bíteš On-the-Job Training Centre provides on-the-job training for students of the three-year training programme Metal Tooler – universal machining, which takes place on the modern premises of the On-the-Job Training Centre of První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš.
The On-the-Job Training Centre (next only OJTC) has functioned as a contractual workplace for Jan Tiray’s Vocational School since 1999. Since then, 91 students graduated from the Metal Tooler programme.
As the new School Act came into effect, all students, including company students, became state students. První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. had to respond to this situation. In mid 2007, an application for entry in the School Register was submitted to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. The application was approved and on September 1, 2008, the OJTC became an independent legal person – education legal entity with a new name: PBS Velká Bíteš On-the-Job Training Centre.
At its first meeting, the Board of education legal entity appointed its Chairman and decided on establishing a supplementary activity. The OJTC remains a contractual workplace for Jan Tiray’s Vocational School. Our long-term and very beneficial collaboration shall further develop.
In September 2008, two project applications for support from EU Structural Funds were submitted, aimed at improving the quality of training and teachers’ further education. Jan Tiray’s Vocational School is our partner in both projects which, if the support is approved, will be implemented in next three years. We intend to extend the Centre and its equipment by more lathes and milling machines, which will increase the training programme capacity from 15 to 20 students. In last two years, we have seen a promising increase in the interest in this training programme, offering good prospects. Obviously, students, parents and the general public started to realize the importance and promising future of this training programme.
The Metal Tooler training programme is promoted during pupil recruitment at primary schools, which is conducted by OJTC’s tutors together with teachers of Jan Tiray’s Vocational School in Velká Bíteš.
Good results of the OJTC tutors’ work are evidenced by very good positions of the Metal Tooler training programme students in skill competitions with international participation. The Centre’s capacity is currently 46 students.
The Centre’s personnel consist of:

- Mr. Marek Vladimír – Practical Training Tutor - milling machines
Contracts on after-graduation employment are made with all students (their statutory representatives). První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. thus guarantees to all graduates the option of a job position in a prosperous company, interesting work, advantages arising from the Collective Agreement and other benefits.
