Let me to introduce you the Projects and Development Department of PBS Velká Bíteš, a.s. - Aircraft Technique Division. It’s primary and most extensive task is addressing technological development problems aimed at production programme innovation to satisfy our customers’ needs.

No less important activity is to carry out computing and design works for external customers and other divisions of PBS Velká Bíteš, a.s.

The Projects and Development Department reports directly to the Director of Aircraft Technique Division and is grouping top engineering experts from the fields of dynamic behaviour of machines and structural, aerodynamic and thermodynamic calculations. When performing our tasks, we cooperate with other division departments, especially with design departments, testing laboratories and technological departments of external customers. We provide mainly design studies and designs of machines and equipment such as turbine engines, auxiliary power units, turbo-cryogenic units, turbo-superchargers, gas and steam turbines, compressors, pumps and other high-speed machines. We also provide their stress, dynamic, and aerodynamic analysis and optimization.

Projects and Development Department generally provides the necessary technical background needed for continuity of development of final products of První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s., especially of Aircraft Technique Division. Our know-how corresponds to over fifty year tradition of development and production of bladed machines in the company. For technical calculations we use the following software:

  • MGF BIT – for determining dynamic characteristics of slide bearings
  • DYNROT, Pro/Mechanika – for analyses of stability, critical speed and vibration of high-speed rotors (finite element method)
  • MATLAB – for models of dynamic behaviour of aircraft gearboxes
  • ANSYS – for stress, thermal and deformation analyses of machine parts (finite element method)
  • SKALA – for calculations of life of heavy loaded parts from the viewpoint of low cycle fatigue, for analyses of stability, critical speed and vibration of high-speed rotors (finite element method)
  • FLUENT – CFD software for solution of tasks of viscous flow of gases and liquids (finite volume method)
  • Pro/E – CAD software for 3D modelling
  • the system of software support of own provenience (VBA, Fortran):
    – for design of flow parts of radial compressors
    – for design of flow parts of radial and axial turbines
    – for determining thermodynamic circulation parameters and properties of their working media

As a part of Aircraft Technique Division, we participate in many national and international projects in cooperation with leading manufacturers such as Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Snecma, Turbomeca, Eurocopter, Alenia, Volvo, MTU etc. We have also been cooperating on a long-term basis with domestic and foreign scientific, university and other workplaces of high proficiency in form of joint projects and expert consultancy.
