Christmas Party 2007 – Meeting of Employees
This year První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. organized the third "end of the year party" for its employees in the House of Culture in Velká Bíteš. This year’s party held on 12th and 13th December 2007 was imbued with the spirit of Christmas.
Ing. Milan Macholán, Managing Director, opened the evening and thanked to the employees for their good performance and awarded the best workers and best innovators of the company. The individual departments and divisions presented their excellent results and achievements, as well as the plans and expectations for 2008. Then the party continued with refreshment (served by the J Rauš’s restaurant) and František Kratochvíl’s F. K. Music played to the dance.

A glider is driven by a jet engine
The Blaník Glider fitted with a jet engine manufactured by První brněnská strojírna, a.s., Velká Bíteš has been tested at Jihlava-Henčov. The glider is a suitable testbed for very economical try-outs of the flight properties of engines, particularly their performance at extreme altitudes and temperatures. The TJ 100 engine is made in several modifications; except for the electronics, the machine has been developed on the Velká Bíteš premises, supported by several Authorship Certificates. The engine offers excellent parameters - its strengths are best in evidence at higher speeds, as high as 850 kilometers per hour. In dependence on accessories the engine’s price can approach one million Czech crowns; the engine is designed to be used primarily for fast unmanned air vehicles, small private jets, experimental aircraft, or as an auxiliary engine for sailplanes.

OPEN DOOR DAY
On Saturday, 6th October 2007, the complex of První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s., PBS ENERGO, a.s. and PBS Turbo, s.r.o. hosted the Open Door Day attended by 1 192 visitors. The record attendance suggests that První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. has become a stable part of the community in Velká Bíteš and its surroundings and that it deservedly received the "Employer of the Region" award.
The visitors included not only the current and former employees, their families and friends but also parents seeking vocational training for their children after the basic school. The visitors could also watch demonstrations of police dogs training. The present children got little presents and all visitors were treated to refreshment. Thanks to everybody for coming and we look forward to the next meeting in 2008.

IDET 2007
IDET, an exhibition of military hardware, held place on the Brno exhibition grounds early in May, from May 2 to 4 this year. The joint stock company PBS Velká Bíteš, a.s. a regular exhibitor, together with Škodaexport, presented its new products intended especially for the helicopters of MI 8 and MI 17 series. The goal of the exhibition was to show to expert, public as well, as to other people that Czech firms are able, among other things, to take part in the plans of the Czech Army, and to offer the products of indigenous production and, at the same time, to present products which are much sought-after abroad, in particular because of their high utility value. Auxiliary power unit Safír 5K/G MI and a new air conditioning system become very popular for the customers who want a high standard of operation of aircraft and helicopters.

"Employer of the Region 2007" - Region Vysočina
The competition Employer of the Year is organized by Fincentrum Media and its general partner AXA. The event is supported by the investment promotion agency Czechinvest. Fifty awarded companies from 14 regions will proceed to the national competition AXA Employer of the Year 2007 organized by AXA whose results will be announced on 27 May in Prague.
Results of the 3rd regional round of the AXA award - Employer of the Region - were announced on 19 April 2007 in Brno.
První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. succeeded in winning the 3rd place in this prestigious competition.
The award was taken over by the Managing Director of První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s., Mr. Milan Macholán.
With its 780 employees První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. ranks among the major employers in the region. The competition jury also took into account the company’s personnel policy and data provided by the Czech Statistical Office.
The first place went to BOSCH DIESEL, s.r.o. and MANN+HUMMEL(CZ), s.r.o. was the second.
The event was held under the auspices of Jiří Čunek, Minister for Regional Development and Deputy Prime Minister.

Training Centre "Vysočina"
Project is co-financed by the european social found and the state budget of the Czech Republic through the ministry of industry and trade.
On Thursday 5th April 2007, a new Training Centre "Vysočina" of První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. has been inaugurated. This project has been co-financed by the state budget and EC Structural Funds by means of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The inauguration of the Centre took place in the presence of the President of the Region Vysočina Miloš Vystrčil, the Managing Director of PBS Velká Bíteš, a.s. Milan Macholán, representatives of the CzechInvest – the directress of the Region Vysočina office Dagmar Strnadová and the regional project manager Kamila Malá - and representatives of the town Velká Bíteš headed by the Mayor Miroslav Báňa.
By establishing the Training Centre "Vysočina", a modern base for training and education of employees has been founded. The Training Centre "Vysočina" includes a large lecture room, a small lecture room, and a computer’s room with a total capacity of 75 seats.
První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. intends to develop its employees by means of further training. The Training Centre "Vysočina" will be used for implementation of projects co-financed by the EUROPEAN SOCIAL FUND AND THE STATE BUDGET OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC: "A support for the level of expertise in aviation specialists in the form of further education" and "Modern methods of organization management with a focus on human resources".

The 8th Grand Ball "První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. 2007"
"The 8th Grand Ball of První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s." was held on Saturday 17th February 2007. The ball was introduced by Radka Coufalová–Vidláková, an actress of the Brno City Theatre, and, together with the Managing Director, Milan Macholán, they welcomed the guests attending the ball, wishing them a pleasant evening. And then the La Quadrilla Brno dance group danced into the dance floor with their ceremonial dance show. This dance group livened the ball programme up once again before midnight by the "Lucky Sun" western & country dance. "The Band of Many Faces - Vysočinka" conducted by its bandmaster, Tomáš Vodrážka, played their music for the ball participants to dance as well as listed to it. The band gingered the ball guests up by its very first tones, and neither was the dancing floor left empty late after midnight. Even the stage was besieged by the dancing crowd. "Vysočinka" contributed to the good mood, playing Czech as well as foreign hits to the satisfaction of both brass band and dancing music fans. The atmosphere was joyous also where the cimbalom music band "Ondráš" played there music. The guest of the evening was the singer Josef Laufer, who becharmed the ball guests not only by his songs and charm, but also his dancing creations. The rich tombola with donations from První brněnská strojírna and other organisations as well contributed to the good mood of all those who won the tombola prizes. Judging from the number of sold entrance tickets, we may say that the interest in the ball was the strongest as compared with the previous years, and so we believe that everybody forgot their everyday problems, had a great time, and enjoyed the ball well.

New Year Opening – Employees Reunion
This is the second year of the "Employees Reunion" held by První brněnská strojírna Velká Bíteš, a.s. in the Community Centre in Velká Bíteš. This year the event fell on 10th - 11th January 2007. After the opening word of the Managing Director, Milan Macholán, who thanked employees for the good results achieved in the past year and acknowledged the best workers of the company, also the best innovators of the company were praised. The individual departments and divisions presented their results and achievements. The forecasts for the new year 2007 were also discussed. After small refreshment František Kratochvíl’s band F.K. Music played their music for the participants to dance as well as listen to it.
