On-the-Job Training Centre of PBS Velká Bíteš
The On-the-Job Training Centre of PBS Velká Bíteš remains a contractual workplace of the Jan Tiray’s Vocational School. Consequently, the long-term and beneficial collaboration can further develop. In last two years, we have seen a promising increase in the interest in this training programme, offering good prospects. Obviously, students, parents and the general public have begun to realize the importance and promising future of this training programme.
Good results of the OJTC tutors’ work are evidenced by very good places at competitions in this year. At the skill competition called Řemeslo Vysočiny (Trade of Highlands) the trainees were placed first in individual category and second in turning from among strong eight teams. In milling they took the second place. Another competition called KOVO JUNIOR took place also in Ždár nad Sázavou, with participation of teams from the whole Czech Republic, and one from Slovakia. In the team competition the OJTC students were placed third, and Miloslav Cejnek was first in the practical part - turning. Consequently, he has been placed first at the nation-wide competition Zlaté ručičky (Golden Hands). In evaluation in June he was rated as the best apprentice of the Metal Tooler specialization in the Czech Republic.

Engine TP 100
První brněnská strojírna has finished three-years development of the new turboprop engine TP 100 designed for pilotless aircraft and little aeroplanes. Beside PBS specialists, also Aeronautical Research and Test Institute took part in the development project co-financed by the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade. The engine will have to pass through long-run tests; engine parameters will be checked on the test stand in long-time run in order to validate the design and provide inputs for further improvement. The company is also negotiating integration of the engine into an experimental aircraft.
